Registration for ecoENERGY Retrofit – Homes
Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) has stopped accepting new registrations into the ecoENERGY Retrofit – Homes program. Only homeowners who have received a registration number for their properties starting with CID0 or CID2 can apply for a grant.
Since July 2011, the program Web site has explained that “Once the financial limit of the program appears to be reached, NRCan reserves the right to close program registrations without notice.” By ending registrations on January 28, 2012, the program is confident that all eligible homeowners who previously registered will have the opportunity to apply for and receive a grant.
The deadline to obtain a post-retrofit evaluation for work completed by March 31, 2012, is now June 30, 2012.
Complementary regional programs establish their own eligibility criteria and may not require registration through NRCan for participation in their programs. Homeowners should verify the eligibility criteria of complementary regional programs before beginning their retrofit upgrades.
