BC Hydro Power Smart Appliance Rebate Program is offering rebates on the purchase of select ENERGY STAR qualified appliances: $75 for clothes washers, $50 for refrigerators, $25 for dishwashers and $25 for freezers. The BC Government offers a Provincial Sales Tax Exemption from February 21, 2007 to March 31, 2009, pre-manufactured ENERGY STAR qualified windows, skylights, doors, side lights and transoms are exempt from provincial sales tax. Also up to March 1, 2009, ENERGY STAR qualified residential forced air furnaces or boilers (gas-fired and oil-fired), air source heat pumps and ground source heat pumps are eligible for a provincial tax exemption if purchased or leased for residential purposes. FortisBC offers all its customers an incentive for energy efficient air-source heat pumps through the PowerSense Air Source Heat Pump Program. For qualifying models, the financial incentives will consist of either a rebate or financing of up to $5,000 over 10 years at 4.9% fixed rate. Gaz Métro offers a $30 financial incentive on the purchase of a programmable electronic thermostat, $700 on the purchase of an ENERGY STAR qualified high efficiency boiler and $450 on the purchase of a tankless water heater.

The Energy Efficiency Fund will offer owners of residences supplied by Gaz Métro for heating purposes a $5 per square feet rebate with the purchase of high energy efficiency ENERGY STAR windows and sliding doors, up to maximum of $500.

ENERGY STAR qualified compact fluorescent bulbs. Until December 31, 2011, Hydro-Québec offering a mail-in rebate on eligible brands of ENERGY STAR qualified compact fluorescent light bulbs. Customers can obtain a $5 rebate on every $10 spent (before taxes), up to a maximum rebate of $25 per address. ENERGY STAR qualified lighting fixtures. From September 1, 2008, to December 31, 2011, Hydro-Québec is offering a mail-in rebate of $15 (or the purchase price before taxes, if less than $15) on eligible brands of ENERGY STAR qualified lighting fixtures. Manitoba Hydro's Commercial Kitchen Appliance Program offers rebates for ENERGY STAR qualified steamers and fryers for restaurants and foodservice establishments: $2,500 per steamer, $1,250 per fryer. Complete details on eligibility and qualified models can be found on the website.

Manitoba Hydro's Commercial Clothes Washers Program, offers an incentive for its commercial customers that purchase and install ENERGY STAR qualified front-loading commercial clothes washers in their business or facility. For more information, please visit the website.

Efficiency NB, a crown corporate of the Government of New Brunswick, promotes ENERGY STAR qualified appliances and products in its public education initiatives as well as providing an ENERGY STAR Package Incentive Bonus as a component of its
New Homes Program.

Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro and Newfoundland Power's take CHARGE ENERGY STAR® Window Rebate Program offers a rebate for ENERGY STAR qualified windows where you receive $2.00 cash back for each square foot of window installed.Visit for a complete details and other rebates through the ENERGY SAVERS Programs.

The Government of the Northwest Territories Energy Efficiency Incentive Program helps consumers to purchase more energy efficient products. The purchase of a new ENERGY STAR qualified refrigerator (larger than 6.4 cubic feet) or a new ENERGY STAR qualified front-loading clothes washer qualifies for a $200 rebate for customers with diesel or natural gas or a $100 rebate for customers with hydro. The Province of Saskatchewan offers the PST exemption for qualifying ENERGY STAR residential furnaces, boilers and ENERGY STAR heat pumps that was scheduled to conclude on March 31, 2007, has been extended indefinitely. For the period beginning November 8, 2005, qualifying energy-efficient furnaces and boilers are exempt from PST if purchased or leased for a continuous period of one year or more. For the period beginning July 1, 2006, qualifying ground and air source heat pumps, are exempt from PST if purchased or leased for a continuous period of one year or more. Toronto Hydro's residential new construction incentive offers builders who install ENERGY STAR qualified fixtures in new residential buildings an incentive of $15 per fixture. This applies to new Toronto high or low rise residential buildings. Builders can learn more and complete an application at
