Technical Requirements for Energy-Using Products
Oil-fired water heaters

EF = Energy factor calculated as defined in the CSA test procedure.
V = rated storage capacity in litres
Requirements for the energy efficiency report, as listed in Schedule IV of the Regulations
- type of product (oil-fired water heater);
- brand name;
- model number;
- name of the organization or province that carried out the water heater verification and authorized the verification mark that will be affixed to the water heater;
- rated volume of the storage tank in litres;
- energy factor;.
- input rating;
- recovery efficiency; and
- energy factor calculated as a dimensionless quantity.
oil-fired water heaters that have an input rating of not more than 30.5 kilowatts or 107 000 kJ and a manufacturer's specified storage capacity of not more than 190 litres (50 U.S. gallons).
