Commercial sector

The objective of this buildings-based survey is to establish baseline energy consumption figures against which new policies and programs geared toward energy efficiency in commercial and institutional buildings can be measured. The buildings-based component of the SCIEU collects building characteristics and energy consumption estimates by building type and by climate zone.

This summary report presents an analysis of the SCIEU - Buildings 2009 data.

This report examines energy consumption and energy intensity of establishments in the commercial and institutional sector for the reference year 2009.

Industrial sector

This summary report shows how and where the Canadian Manufacturing sector uses energy and gives readers some context with which to interpret the energy use data.

Transportation sector

This summary report describes the characteristics of Canada's vehicle fleet and patterns in vehicle use and fuel consumption for the year 2009.

The fact sheet provides an overview of the CVS 2009 survey.
