Awareness Campaigns

Vehicle Pool Awareness Campaign

Natural Resources Canada developed an awareness campaign to help divert some employee business travel from taxis and rentals to more fuel-efficient and lower-emitting fleet pool vehicles. Greater use of these vehicles can reduce travel costs and greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change.

E-10: Ethanol-Blended Fuels Awareness Campaign

On November 22, 2003, former Prime Minister Jean Chrétien announced that E-10 would have to be purchased for Government of Canada vehicles whenever available. The Federal Vehicles Initiative ((FVI) ) promoted awareness of E-10 within the federal fleet and provided a list of refuelling stations across Canada which offer alternative fuels including E-10.

The FVI launched an awareness campaign to remind federal vehicle operators and fleet managers to use ethanol-blended fuels in federal vehicles where available, whenever possible.
