Training From Outside Organizations

In addition to training and awareness opportunities offered by Natural Resources Canada's Office of Energy Efficiency (OEE), the following courses are offered by external organizations to help you increase energy efficiency in your organization. Many of these organizations are OEE stakeholder organisations and allies.

  • The Association of Municipalities of Ontario and Local Authority Services (AMO/LAS) offers two one-day Municipal Energy Management Workshops for municipal staff and elected officials.

  • The Association québécoise pour la maîtrise de l’énergie (AQME) offers a number of certification courses and workshops for individuals who are responsible for building energy efficiency (French only).

  • The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) offers the on-line BOMA e-Energy Training course for operators of commercial and institutional buildings.

  • Seneca College of Toronto, Ontario offers the Building Environmental Systems correspondence courses for building operators and managers, technical sales representatives, energy auditors and building contractors.

  • The Green Roofs for Healthy Cities offers the Green Roof Education Program in U.S. and Canadian cities.

  • The Canada Green Building Council offers a number of workshops on Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED Canada) building rating systems.

  • The Educational Program Innovations Centre (EPIC) offers a variety of practical courses to enhance the performance of engineers and other technical professionals across Canada.

  • Industrial & Building Energy eXpertise (IBEX) is a self-paced, online training program in energy management.

  • Building Operator Training offered by the Saskatchewan Environmental Society.

  • The University of Windsor offers the Advanced Professional Certificate in Energy Management a two-day or three-day workshop followed by practical in-field work experience.
