NRCan's ecoENERGY Retrofit – Small and Medium Organizations program ended on March 31, 2011.

Since April 2007, this initiative provided financial assistance to 710 building retrofit projects resulting in projected annual energy savings of over 1,117,480 GigaJoules or 0.1 Mt of greenhouse gas emissions.

Many utilities, governments and private sector organizations in Canada offer similar services. For more information, you can contact us.

Related Incentives for Existing Buildings

If you are applying for the ecoENERGY Retrofit Incentive for Buildings, your commercial or institutional organization may also be eligible for additional or “top-up” funding from other third-party sources. Funds will not be deducted as long as the simple payback is at least one year, taking into account all incentives.

If your building is serviced by one of the following utilities or governments, you may be able to apply for additional funds. Here are some examples:

*If your building is in New Brunswick, the harmonized application process will allow you to apply for the ecoENERGY Retrofit Incentive for Buildings directly through Efficiency NB.

The OEE also hosts a Directory of Energy Efficiency and Alternative Energy Programs in Canada which lists financial incentives and other types of programs.

Other Incentives from Natural Resources Canada

Natural Resources Canada offers other incentives, but you cannot apply to more than one incentive for the same measures.
